 Greetings from the May Family!    Museum & Campground are both reopening for the season on MAY 1ST-SEPT 30TH.   Oct. 1st - April 30th is our Off-Season.  For SPECIAL winter MUSEUM EVENT DATES (Check this site often below!)  We welcome Museum Groups of 10 persons+ anytime of the year by Appointment Only.   Ask about group discounts.

Our MAY MUSEUM is OPEN Limited Hours TODAY 9/16, MONDAY from 10M to 5PM due to recent flooding issues. 

We are sorry for the inconvenience...Our Campground & RV Park is CLOSED TODAY (MON, SEPT. 16) FOR NEW CAMPING ARRIVALS due to continued clean-up and road repair from recent heavy rains and flooding.  We will be reopened as soon as possible and we are accepting reservations for later this week.  Please call:  (719) 576-3644  or  576-0450 or e-mail desired dates and we will contact you as soon as possible.  

MAY MUSEUM & GOLDEN EAGLE CAMPGROUND are temporarily closed due to rain & flooding overnight 9/12. Rock Creek Canyon Rd is temporarily closed.

Local heavy rains overnight 9/12 have made traveling hazardous in places in around Colorado Springs and other CO areas.   The GOLDEN EAGLE CG and MAY MUSEUM are temporarily CLOSED today, FRI, 9/13/13 for in-coming visitors.  Please leave us messages for future reservations by e-mail:  maymuseum2001@yahoo.com   or  by phone:  (719) 576-0450. 

Our in-house camping guests can certainly contact Laura on her cell for any emergencies or questions at:  (719) 660-7156.   Rock Creek Canyon Rd is currently impassible from the CG office parking lot east to Old Canon City Rd.  Gate accesses are open for current campers at lake and group field area gates, east and south of the lakes.  (Note:  group area field gate is best for camping rig access out)

Foremost:  Our thoughts and continued prayers go out to our friends and neighbors in the Pike Peak & Royal Gorge region who have suffered loss of life and homes.  To our amazing fire fighters, PD/EMS and relief personnel:  Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation!   Today, 6/19:  BLACK FOREST fire: 85% contained;  ROYAL GORGE fire: 100% contained!   

Our campground thankfully, as is the case with most Pikes Peak Region attractions, has been physically unaffected by fire.  We all appreciate your continued visits and business to our gorgeous area!  There are such great places to stay and explore from camping, lodging, B&B's properties to museums/zoos, river rafting, hiking, mountain biking, zip-line adventures.  Our families and employees who depend on our short summer tourist season thank you for coming and enjoying all we have to offer.

We do still have FH & EW sites for travelers and evacuees from fire-affected, southern Colorado areas.  Please call us directly for reservations at (719) 576-0450...Everyone travel safely!  Our prayers go out to all those affected by the wildfires in our area.   Our CG is not immediately affected by the fires or smoke as we are over 30 miles south & west of Black Forest.   Please check El Paso, Fremont, Douglas and Teller and other counties websites for affected areas.
